GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - Grand Rapids' public pools are officially open for the season.
The pools at Briggs, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Richmond parks will be open from July 1 through August 17. However, all city pools will be closed for the Fourth of July.
All children under a year may swim in the city's pools for free; children ages one to 17 who live in Grand Rapids must pay $1 and non-resident children must pay $4. Pool fees are $2 for adult residents and $4 for adult non-residents.
Hours for each pool vary. The Briggs Park pool, located at Lafayette and Knapp NE, will be open Monday through Wednesday, from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday, from 12:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The Martin Luther King, Jr. park pool, located at Fuller and Franklin SE, will be open Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, from 12:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:30 to 5 p.m.
Richmond Park's pool, located at Richmond and Tamarack NW, will be open Mondays from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday through Saturday, from 12:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
