LANSING, Mich. (WZZM) - More bars and restaurants will be able to sell refillable growlers of beer under a new law signed today by Governor Rick Snyder.
The Michigan Licensed Beverage Association (MLBA) announced Wednesday that Gov. Snyder has signed Senate Bill 27. Previously, growlers were only allowed to be filled at microbreweries and brewpubs.
According to the MLBA, the bill only applies to on-premises licensees that also hold beer and wine take-out licenses.
The governor also signed Senate Bill 79 which allows small wine makers to offer wine tastings and to sell their wine at farmer's markets, provided they have received a special permit from the Michigan Liquor Control Commission.
