Thieves break into vehicles parked at 68th Street churches

KENT COUNTY, Mich. (WZZM)-- The Kent County Sheriff's Department is searching for the thieves stealing from people while they attend church.

Detectives say on June 23, June 30 and July 7, someone broke into five vehicles parked outside churches on 68th Street SE in Gaines and Cascade townships.  Deputies say the suspects got into the vehicles through unlocked doors or by breaking windows. They took credit cards that were used soon after the thefts.

Kent County deputies want to remind people to lock up their vehicles and hide any valuables from plain sight.
