GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- The Ford family, Grand Rapids, and those who knew him best stopped to remember President Ford's 100th birthday.
A special wreath laying ceremony at the Ford's tomb commemorated the late president's legacy.
Inside the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum, a model air craft carrier was unveiled. The USS Gerald R. Ford is being built in the late president's name. His own daughter, Susan Bales Ford, helped in the construction.
The ship will last for at least 50 years, and will have the most advanced tools capable of handling technology like unmanned aircrafts.
President Ford was a navy man himself, his families only hope is that it would make him proud.
