WYOMING, Mich. (WZZM) -- Federal investigators say they've arrested 255 child predators, including two from West Michigan, during a nationwide sweep.
Task forces from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) conducted the five-week investigation, called "Operation iGuardian." Federal officials say 61 young victims were also identified during the sweep, which targeted online predators who owned, traded and produced child pornography.
On June 11, HSI special agents arrested Christopher Sweedyk of Wyoming for distribution, receipt and possession of child pornography. Ronald Mabee of Hopkins was previously arrested for distribution, attempted receipt and possession of child pornography on May 29.
Federal officials say four of the victims identified during their sweep were three years old or under; the majority were between the ages of 10 and 15.
