Deputies identify Kalamazoo County drowning victim

COOPER TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- Kalamazoo County deputies are releasing the name of a man who drowned at a Cooper Township park.

Investigators are identifying the victim as Charles Hunter, 43, of Kalamazoo.

It happened around 9:20 p.m. Saturday at the Markin Glen Park at 5300 N. Westnedge.

Deputies say they were called to the park on a report of a missing man who was last seen near the beach. 

Deputies with the county's dive team joined Cooper Township firefighters in searching for Hunter.  Members of the dive team found Hunter's body in the park's pond.

They say the incident is still under investigation.
