NORTON SHORES, Mich. (WZZM) -- The owners of a lakeshore coffee shop burglarized in June received some support from the community Friday. A "cash mob" of customers flooded The Coffee House with unexpected business, a move organized by the West Michigan Jobs Group.
In June, thieves smashed a window to get into the store. They left extensive damage and also stole from The Coffee House.
Cash mobbers say they didn't want a few bad guys to damage the reputation of the greater Muskegon community.
"Our group decided we need to mob The Coffee House. They are new owners of this place and they have done lots to support Muskegon and so we wanted to make sure they knew that the community supported them as well," said Amanda Shunta.
Nicolas Mika, owner of The Coffee House said he was touched by the move. " I was very flattered when she reached out, so that was cool."
Police arrested a group of juveniles believed to be responsible for the break in and suspect they may be connected to others in the area as well.
