KENTWOOD, Mich. (WZZM) - Three men are in custody after a shooting, chase, crash, and standoff overnight.

The situation began before 9:00pm when Kentwood Police went to investigate reports of shots fired at the Countryside Townhouses at 48th Street and Eastern Ave.  They started following a maroon SUV which then began to flee from police.

At about 9:00pm, the SUV crashed into a pole at 32nd Street and Eastern and caught fire.  Police arrested one of the three people in the vehicle at that scene, but two others ran into some nearby apartments.

After a standoff with police, the two remaining suspects surrendered to authorities at about 1:00am.  They had been inside an apartment on Marshall Avenue, just north of 33rd Street.

We will be following this story throughout the day for updates on charges on the three men.
