LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) - Two young boys were found drowned in a self-made pond Thursday evening.
According to Lake County officials, the boys, Jethro Troyer, 9 and Leander Troyer, 7, were pronounced dead on the scene, off of Tyndall Road a half mile south of 64th Avenue.
Family members had removed the boys from the pond.
The Ludington Daily News quotes Undershiff Dennis Robinson as saying, "They had their clothes on," Robinson said. "I don't think they intended to go swimming."
Robinson said the boys, who were brothers, didn't come home on time so their parents went looking for them, eventually discovering them in the spring-fed pond beside the house.
