Kentwood Mayor's job up for grabs

KENTWOOD, Mich. (WZZM) - The only city in West Michigan where the mayor really runs things day-to-day will have a new mayor later this year.  

Richard Clanton is the current mayor who is not seeking reelection.  He is filling the unexpired term of Mayor Rick Root, who died in office.

Friday, Clanton told a reporter the job requires special talent. "You actually play city manager and you actually play mayor, so playing both hats is quite difficult - sometimes it can be tough."
