KENTWOOD, Mich. (WZZM) -- Kentwood voters had five mayoral candidates to choose from with no incumbent on the ballot.

Two will move on to November general election: Sharon Brinks and Stephen Kepley. Brinks received 45 percent of the vote and Kepley received 28 percent Tuesday night.

Because no candidate received 50 percent of the vote, Brinks and Kepley will face off November 5. And although Brinks had many more votes in the primary, she starts a new campaign from square one.

Still, Kepley says he is glad to still be in the race and Brinks says she is ready to run.
