Muskegon County Jail
MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM) -- Two corrections officers were injured in an attack at the Muskegon County Jail.
Sheriff Dean Roesler says around 3:45 p.m. Thursday an inmate attacked two deputies near a second floor housing unit.
Roesler says Terry Raap, 26, attacked the deputies with weapons made from plexi glass and pieces of concrete placed in a sock.
The injured deputies are 25 year and 19 year veterans of the Muskegon County corrections unit. The attack was without warning and without provocation, according to authorities.
Terry Rapp has been a prisoner at the Muskegon County jail since October 21, 2012 for operating a meth lab. He is also a habitual offender with prior felony convictions for second degree criminal sexual conduct in 2007 and assaulting, resisting, or abstructing an officer in 2005.
