GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- If you're traveling to Chicago this Labor Day weekend you might see billboards encouraging you to come back home.
A new advertising campaign by Hello West Michigan, called MIreason.com is trying to attract former Michigan college graduates now working in Chicago to come back to West Michigan.
The group's director says there's growing number of high-paying jobs in health care and engineering fields that need educated people. MIreason.com targets people in their 20s and 30s.
"Recent college graduates and then graduates that are maybe in their 30s. Right before they're starting to buy a house or start a family, that want to come back to the West Michigan area and they might not know how to do it," said Cindy Brown of Hello West Michigan.
The campaign promotes our beautiful beaches, shorter commutes to work, cheaper rent, and home-brewed beer.
Brown says if they moved away five or 10 years ago, MIreason.com will inform them on everything the area has to offer. The billboards can be seen near Michigan City, while other ads will be online and in Chicago subways.
