The GRAM will offer free admission Friday and Saturday, as part of Celebration on the Grand.
GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - With ArtPrize less than two weeks away, this is a good weekend to check out one of Grand Rapids' biggest attractions: the Grand Rapids Art Museum.
And for the next few days it won't cost a thing.
Bank of America and Merrill Lynch are offering their bank credit and debit cardholders free admission to some of America's favorite museums and cultural institutions, including the GRAM and Frederik Meijer Gardens this Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8, as part of the Museums on Us program.
Natalie Thomas, communications coordinator for the GRAM, says visitors will be able to see some of the ArtPrize exhibits that are already installed, as well as artwork in the museum's regular collection.
Thomas says people who are not cardholders need not worry, because everyone will have an opportunity this weekend to get in without paying.
"It's also Celebration on the Grand this weekend, so GRAM is free to everyone Friday and Saturday," said Thomas.
