GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- Three local chefs competed on Thursday to create healthy dishes using food pantry staples, in the third annual Healthy Food Cook Off.
The cook off was held at United Church Outreach Ministry in Wyoming, and is part of Grand Rapids' Hunger Action Week.
The event helps shine the spotlight on hunger in West Michigan.
After completing their dishes, each chef's healthy creation was evaluated by a panel of community judges.
Last year's champion of the Healthy Foods Cook Off, Catherine Behrendt of WZZM's Take Five, and her brother put their culinary talents on the line once again. Catherine's teriyaki glazed chicken won the judge's award, and her blueberry peach crisp won the people's choice award.
