LUDINGTON, Mich. (WZZM) - If you need to get to Manitowoc, Wisconsin this fall, you will have a couple more weeks to take the Lake Michigan Carferry, thanks to the boost in the use of wind power.
The SS Badger will be adding round trip evening crossings starting today through October 12th, due to need of transporting wind turbine towers from Wisconsin to Michigan. Since the ferry will be carrying the cargo, there is space for passengers and fares will be offered at 40% off.
Information on the special reduced passenger fares during the newly scheduled evening crossings are available by calling toll free 1-800-841-4243. The Badger's normal departure times will be continued, weather pending.
