WYOMING, Mich. (WZZM) -- A family-owned furniture store in is going out of business after 67 years.
The Williams Furniture store was founded by Lorraine and Jacob Baart in 1946. Over the years, family members say they helped to keep the business going at its current location on 28th Street.
Loyal customers like Wanda Torres say they're sad to see the store close. She liked going there to get American-made furniture. "It's really important for me, instead of everything coming from China. I prefer stuff that's from the good ol' USA."
The store is currently having a going out of business sale and will be getting rid of the remaining merchandise on a first come, first serve basis.
The family says it did everything it could to keep the business going, but due to the downturn in the economy, they couldn't make it work.
