ROCKFORD (WZZM) - Early numbers indicate the annual Fall Parade of Homes, presented by the Home Builders Association of Greater Grand Rapids, will attract the most visitors since 2007 when the housing market started to decline.
The Parade features 36 total homes, including 4 virtual homes, throughout West Michigan. The event kicked off October 4th and runs through October 19th.
Home builders say it is a great way for potential buyers to get idea on what they are looking for when building and buying new homes.
"We see an increased number of Parade entries, which is a sure sign that the housing industry is coming back. Our builder members are working closely with the associate members to showcase some great products and craftsmanship. We have homes all around the Greater Grand Rapids area, from lakefront properties to downtown Grand Rapids" says Emily Siebert, HBAGGR Executive Officer. "It has been a very busy year for builders, and with inventory of existing homes still low, it is a great time to build a new home and get everything you are looking for."
The Parade has homes from 11 different communities including: Ada, Allendale, Belmont, Byron Center, Caledonia, East Grand Rapids, Grand Rapids, Hudsonville, Rockford, South Haven, and Wyoming
Homes are open for touring Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 1- 8 pm.
Admission is $10 for adults ages 13 and up when purchased online or at Option One Credit Union, and $12 when purchased at the homes. Children 12 & under are admitted free.
Tickets are available online at www.mygrhome.com , at all Option One Credit Unions locations and at each home during the tour. Tickets include a coupon from Williams Kitchen & Bath and Brann's restaurant, making it a huge value.
