MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM) -- One of the years most anticipated sports car is now in West Michigan showrooms. In January the all new 2014 Corvette Stingray coupe was unveiled at the North American Auto Show in Detroit.
Now you can find one at select Chevrolet dealers like Betten in Muskegon. The two Stingrays arrived last week and customers can pop the hood and sit in the latest version of the classic American sports car.
Several parts of the 2014 Stingray are made of carbon fiber which makes the car lighter and faster. The car is expected to help General Motors continue with strong sales numbers to close out the 2013 calendar year.
"It drives traffic like you would not believe; people come in and just take a look at the new 'Vette' and they usually end up buying something. It might not be a Vette, but an Equinox, or a Cruze or something of that nature. It just gives a good buzz to the showroom," said Betten Chevrolet general sales manager Blake Born.
The Stingray coupe is available with up to 460 horsepower, is capable of going from 0 to 60 m.p.h. in under four seconds, and has a starting price of 50-thousand $50,000. The car is selling so fast, General Motors only has only been able to build a six-day supply of the car, which is made in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
