KENTWOOD, Mich. (WZZM) -- Voters in Kentwood have a new mayor in a tight race.

This is the first time in years the city has not had an incumbent candidate running for mayor.

Stephen Kepley narrowly beat Sharon Brinks with 51% to 49% of the vote. Kepley earned 2,360 votes to Brinks' 2,264.
