HOLLAND, Mich. (WZZM) -- It's time to get organized and The Stow Company can help you stow your stuff.

Stow employs 200 people, producing "storage solutions."

Most of those solutions end up in your closets, but Stow fashions custom shelving, cabinets and more for all areas of the home.

Stow sells its products in three channels - ORG Home, a higher end, custom installation through dealers;, an online site; and its Easy Track products are found in big box stores like Menard's.

Stow says its competitive advantage is its very fast lead time - an order placed by 6 PM on one day will be shipped the next.   Automated processes make that possible, even while producing orders custom built for each customer, at lower prices than previously possible.

"Through automation, we can take a custom design and produce it at a pricepoint that's almost equivalent to what a mass production would be, without the customization," said Frank Newman, Stow's President and CEO.

Stow recently consolidated its manufacturing in Holland, closing a plant in New Jersey and moving those 40 jobs to West Michigan.

"We found there were advantages to manufacturing in Michigan that were difficult to replicate in New Jersey," Newman said Tuesday.    Those advantages, he said, include a lower cost of living, that translates into lower rents, utilities and wage scales.

Stow still has over 20 positions it is trying to fill in its plant.   People interesting in applying should do so at their website:
