GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- The man accused of beating his pregnant ex-girlfriend into a coma could face up to life in prison.
Adam Phillips, 22, was arraigned Thursday in Kent County Court and was denied bond. He's being charged with one felony count of assault with intent to murder.

Police say he attacked Elizabeth Batchelder, 18, at his home on Tuesday. Phillips was also arraigned today for a September incident.
He faces three misdemeanor charges for allegedly breaking into Batcelder's apartment, assaulting her, and destroying her cell phone.
The preliminary trial is in two weeks.
