Area pastors invite public to help unite urban and suburban churches

GRAND RAPIDS, MI --- An informal group of Grand Rapids pastors and Christian leaders representing all corners of the region's faith community is asking the general public to rally around the idea of uniting urban and suburban churches. The group, called One Church One City, is even bringing in noted Christian pastor and author Dr. Tony Evans to Grand Rapids to lead a free public event on Thursday, November 14 at Kentwood Community Church.

Dr. Evan's public event is part of a two-day conference that One Church One City is hosting for area pastors and Christian leaders that hopes to bring groups together to help unite the churches around Grand Rapids. More details on the conference are available by clicking here.

The group believes that the body of Christ is divided between urban and suburban churches. The hope with the pastor conference and public event is that connections are fostered between urban and suburban church parishioners and each congregation is better equipped, inspired and united in advancing God's kingdom.

"We pray that several churches and Christian organizations will join this movement of God, and ask for you to join us in praying for an awakening and the manifestation of God's unity throughout and around Grand Rapids," says Pastor Nathanial Moody, one of the group's leaders. "Our prayer is that this step of fostering connections between urban and suburban churches will better equip us, inspire us, and unite us as one body in advancing God's Kingdom."
