PLAINWELL, Mich. (WZZM) - Heading out to the woods before sunrise Friday morning is like Christmas morning for deer hunters, and the DNR is predicting them to have a successful season.
Checkpoints are now open all over Michigan, and DNR Regional Supervisor asks that deer hunters take a few minutes to come in with what they've hunted. Tracking data from the deer helps them to create records of diseases, parasites and population.
