ROCKFORD, Mich. (WZZM) -- An investigation is underway involving a sexting incident at Rockford High School. There have been a number of rumors circulating around the community so WZZM 13 investigated to find out the facts.
Rockford Public Schools confirmed Friday there is an ongoing criminal investigation involving an inappropriate picture or video that was shared among students via their phones.
In this case, it was an incident that happened this past summer outside of school, but just came to light over the past two weeks.
Superintendent Mike Shibler says students have to remember that any type of picture of a sexual nature can be considered pornography. He says the district is waiting to see if any of the images were shared at the school. He says if they were, the student could face disciplinary action and possible criminal charges.
