GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- An economic analyst says 2013 was "a great year" for Grand Rapids and the New Year is also promising.
George Erickcek from the Upjohn institute made that declaration during Thursday's West Michigan Economic Outlook event. He pointed out the city's 2.4% increase in employment. And he's even more optimistic about the next two years.
"As we look to 2014, to 2015, we're expecting to see more growth. Where it was 2.4% last year, we're expecting 2.6% this year in terms of total employment," said Erickcek.
Erickcek also expects to see "balanced growth" with jobs being added across a number of industries,
