GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- If you're looking for something to do this New Year's Eve, there are lots of events and celebrations going on next week.
The Grand Rapids Children's Museum will hold its annual New Year's Eve celebration beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday. The "Early Eve" celebration for children features a balloon drop, a live DJ and face-painting. You can call the Children's Museum to make a reservation. Tickets are $12 per person.
You can also attend the Grand Rapids Griffins' 17th annual New Year's Eve Celebration. The game starts at 6 p.m. There will also be a fireworks show and a 45-minute open-skate for fans after the game.
"We actually have a special earlier start time because we encourage people to come down and enjoy everything downtown has to offer at Rosa Parks Circle and all the other festivities that are going on," says Randy Cleves, the Griffins' senior director of public relations.
The Hot New Year's Eve Party begins at Rosa Parks Circle at 6:30 p.m., with live music and a ball drop to ring in 2014 at midnight.
The Grand Rapids Arts Museum is also holding a New Year's Eve celebration, beginning at 6 p.m. Admission is $5.
The "New Year's Eve Bash" at Muskegon's Shoreline Inn begins at 9 p.m. There's a $10 cover charge.
