The Public Museum of Grand Rapids will host an “Old Fashioned Halloween” in the “Streets of Old Grand Rapids” exhibit in the Van Andel Museum Center. The event, October 30, 1-4 pm will be populated by historic characters who will pass out treats, historical tidbits and goodies. Come dressed as your favorite historic character to participate in a costume contest for both kids and adults. Special offer: one child FREE with each paid adult.

Located at the corner of Jackson & Griffin in Grand Haven, the Haunted Hall is open October 14th, 15th, 21st, 22nd and the 24th-29th. Weeknight hours are 6-9pm, weekends - 6-11pm. A Lite Fright hour is offered from 6-7pm for the young and weak of heart. After 7pm is not recommended for children under 12 years. October 15: The City of Wyoming Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting their Second Annual Pumpkin Path October 15 from 5-7 pm at Pinery Park (2301 DeHoop). The event will include over 60 area business “hosts” on hand to pass out prizes, toys, and treats to children! There will also be an activity area at the end of the path. Bring the entire family out to enjoy a lovely fall stroll along our Pumpkin Path! Participation is free.
A Pumpkin Carving Contest will be held the morning of the event. Pumpkins will need to be delivered to Pinery Park Lodge between 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

October 21-22 & 28-29 - TALES, TRAILS AND TREATS: Windmill Island will transform itself into "Windmill Hollow" for this family oriented Halloween program, based on Washington Irving's famous tale. Spooky stories, wagon rides, a haunted windmill, blazing bonfire and fall refreshments await you as you search among the Island grown pumpkins and cornstalks for the headless horseman. October 29 - Trick or Treat on Main Street - Noon to 2:00 - Candy handed out to anyone in costume at participating merchants along Main Street in Historic Downtown Coopersville. While in town, be sure to check out Scarecrows on Main. Have you ever seen a scarecrow dressed up as an astronaut? How about disguising itself as the Easter Bunny? The Mona Lisa-crow has also graced Main Street in years past. View new imaginatively decorated scarecrows along Main Street in Historic Downtown Coopersville during the entire month of October.
