ADA, MICH. - Within the last ten years, the United States ranks second in number of natural disasters.
From severe weather outbreaks to snow storms that last for days, West Michigan businesses and communities are at risk.
The West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum hosted a luncheon Monday, Nov. 14, to bring preparedness front-of-mind for local business owners and community leaders.
Dale Sands, Senior Vice President of CH2M, discussed the efforts both nationwide and globally in minimizing risks of natural disasters and maximizing recovery efforts.
He said, "There are over 3,500 cities around the world that are early adapters in developing resiliency plans. So, the data about natural disasters is objective and so it's really been a catalyst for causing more proactive actions."
