PawsGiving benefit raises money for rescued pets

PawsGiving raised money for a local organization that finds homes for abused and abandoned pets.

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - Mulligan's Pub hosted a PawsGiving Benefit to raise money for a local non-profit organization called Pet Tales Rescue

The event was on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 3-8 p.m. and funds went towards supporting the non-profit.

Pet Tales Rescue was established in 2010, and it helps find homes for abused and abandoned pets. The organization is volunteer based, and it helps approximately 150 animals a year.

Emily Dykema is a foster parent with Pet Tales Rescue, and she said finding these animals homes a good option for the community.

"Get these dogs homes so they're not out on the street, so they're not sitting in shelters," she said. "It just really means a lot to me that we get to help dogs that might not otherwise have a chance--and cats too."
