There are places to help Domestic Violence victims

Help for Domestic Violence victims

Many people, especially women, are victims of domestic violence.  Several community groups want them to know, there are places they can turn to for help.

One of them, "Every Woman's Place" in Muskegon is on West Laketon Ave.  It provides services to help women, children and families in crisis.  They also help women deal with stalking, which experts say is a tactic used by someone to control the other person in a relationship.
Lori Rasmussen, the Executive Director Every Woman's Place, says they "Have a conversation, talk about it and in the safest possible way provide resources, give them a brochure, or the number on a piece of paper.  Anything that you can do to start the conversation can open up a survivor, because you just do not know what they are going through, just do not know what their abuse looks like at home, and how terrified they are."
Anyone looking for help can contact Every Woman's Place.
