Allegedly drunk man charged for fatal Kent County crash

A man is formally charged in a drunk driving crash that killed a teenager in Kent County over the weekend.

ALPINE TOWNSHIP, MICH. - A man is formally charged in a drunk driving crash that killed a teenager in Kent County.

Ted Vandenbrink, 39, is charged with operating while intoxicated causing death. Deputies say he ran a stop sign Sunday, Nov. 13, at 6 Mile Road at Fruit Ridge Avenue, causing a three-car crash.

That caused the crash that killed 17-year old Megan Cook of Morley. She was riding with her parents in their van when the crash happened.

Her parents were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The people in the other two cars were not hurt.
