Convicted murderer waives prelim for 3rd homicide charge

Prison inmate killer heads to trial

MUSKEGON, MICH. - A prison inmate accused of committing a murder inside Brooks Correctional Facility waived a preliminary hearing Tuesday, Nov. 21, in Muskegon County District Court.

Antoine Beck, 35, is now a prisoner at the Ionia Correctional Facility. The prosecutor charged Beck with the death of his cellmate while both were inmates in Muskegon.

On July 2, prison staff found Jamaal Ramsey dead in his cell. Beck and Ramsey were cellmates.

Beck is charged with open murder.

The investigation determined Ramsey was choked to death.

Beck is already serving time on two counts of second degree murder out of the Detroit area. One of the victims was his girlfriend, the other her 10-year-old son.

His next court appearance has not been scheduled.
