Former girls softball coach back in jail for bond violation

Thomas Galloway was booked Monday into the Ottawa County Jail.

GRAND HAVEN, MICH. - A former girls softball coach awaiting trial for sexual assault is back in jail for a bond violation.

Thomas Galloway, 44, was booked Monday, Sept. 12, into the Ottawa County Jail. He'll expected to be in court later Tuesday or Wednesday for violating conditions of bond for the third time.

He also is wanted on a felony warrant out of Muskegon County for an insufficient funds check, said Muskegon County Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Tim Maat to the Grand Haven Tribune.

Galloway used to coach a traveling softball team based in Allendale.

He is awaiting a November trial on charges he raped a former player when the girl was 13 years old.

If convicted of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, the 44-year-old Spring Lake businessman faces up to life in prison.
