GRPD announces fifth homicide case

GRAND RAPIDS. MICH. - Grand Rapids police say that a body found Wednesday, April, 19 near the Grand River at the area of Front Avenue and Letllier SW,  has been ruled a homicide.  

The 54-year-old man was found not breathing with a bloodied face. Police responded around 12:20 p.m .

Police say the death was the result of a gunshot wound. Police have not released the victim's identity at this time. 

The body was the second to be located in Grand Rapids Wednesday afternoon.  Another investigation was underway at Highland Park. 

There,  a caller reported seeing a body in a marsh area of the park around 1:50 p.m. Wednesday.

According to the Grand Rapids Crime Map, the incident is the city's fifth homicide of 2017.
