GRPD searching for drug-related shooting suspects

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - Police in Grand Rapids are searching for two men who may have been involved in a shooting on the city's Southeast side Sunday afternoon.

Grand Rapids Police were called to Brown Street SE, near Jefferson Avenue, on reports of a man down. When officers arrived on the scene around 4:45 p.m., they found a 23-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder.

He was taken to an area hospital where he was treated -- he is expected to be okay.

Police say two light-skinned black teens were seen running from the scene following the shooting. Both boys were wearing black hooded sweatshirts and black pants. Witnesses say that the shooting may have been drug-related.

Police have no made any arrests at this time.

GRPD's Major Case Team will continue to investigate the shooting and ask that anyone with information contact them at 616-456-3400 or Silent Observer, confidentially at www.silentobserver.org.
