GRPD pursuing arrest warrants after sex offender sweep

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) -- Police say they're pursuing arrest warrants for nine sex offenders who are not in compliance with Michigan's sex offender registration law.

The GRPD conducted a sex offender sweep Friday, checking on 35 registered offenders who either failed to show up for verification, were suspected of being in violation, or had been in violation of the sex offender registration law before.

Members of the detective unit, the special response team, and the special services unit conducted the sweep.
