The arson suspect has been identified.

HOLLAND, MICH. - Holland police have identified Shane William Wheeler, 48, as an arson suspect in the business fire at Graphix Signs and Embroidery.

Wheeler was arrested on Nov. 24 for the break-in an arson of the Holland township business.

He has been charged with two counts of breaking and entering, but he will be facing more charges.

Police believe that Wheeler and a 16-year-old may be responsible for up to 12 other instances of breaking and entering in the Holland-Zeeland area.

Police say Wheeler and the 16-year-old are not related but are acquaintances through a family friend.  Authorities are attempting to get the teenage tried as an adult. The teen is currently being held in a youth group home.

The dollar loss is still being calculated for the string of thefts, but according to Ottawa County Police tens of thousands of dollars in property was stolen -- not including the damages sustained from the arson.

Wheeler has a criminal history, and he was on parole for similar crimes.
