Indictment for man accused of making child porn

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) -- The US Attorney's Office for West Michigan says a federal grand jury on Thursday returned a nine-count indictment against a Lowell man accused of making child pornography.

Travis Stiehl, 22, allegedly made sexually-explicit photographs and videos involving kids from ages two through eight. His mother's home, where he lived, had been licensed as a daycare facility.

Eight of the counts he faces are related to producing child pornography, and each carries a 15- to 30-year sentence. The ninth count is related to the possession of about 2,000 images of child pornography. That charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years.

Stiehl has been in custody since being arrested on April 25.

The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations agency asks anyone who believes his or her child might have been a victim call HSI at 616-235-3936, extension 2215.
