Kalamazoo resident arrested, found with stolen handgun

KALAMAZOO, MICH. - Public Safety Officers in Kalamazoo were dispatched to the 1300 block of N. Burdick St after two reports of multiple gun shots, on Sept. 5, 2016. 

The officers located the offender in a parking lot before he took off on foot and threw something in the process. He was caught two blocks down and taken into custody. A Public Safety K9 located a stolen .25 semi-automatic handgun in a tall grassy area. The offender is a 20-year-old Kalamazoo resident and is being held at the Kalamazoo County Jail on charges of resisting an officer, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and an outstanding warrant.
