Kentwood man charged with accosting girl and a teenager

KENTWOOD, Mich. (WZZM) – A Kentwood man who police say lured a neighbor girl into his apartment and exposed himself has been charged with five felonies stemming from separate incidents.

Matthew Dale Keen, 23, faces three counts of accosting a child for immoral purposes, use of computers to commit a crime, and aggravated indecent exposure.

Kentwood Judge William G. Kelly set bond at $20,000 for each case. Keen is being held in the Kent County Jail; he faces a preliminary hearing June 26 on the criminal charges.

The first case alleges that he accosted a girl who lives in his Wingate Apartments complex on Creek Drive SE west of Shaffer Avenue.

According to court records, the seven-year-old girl ran screaming to her mother's apartment in the Wingate complex last month, saying a man asked to take a picture of her with her shirt pulled up.

In the second case, Keen allegedly sent a teenage girl indecent photos of himself using a computer. The victim in that case lives near 52nd Street and East Paris Avenue.
