Man accused in Muskegon Heights arson headed to trial

MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, MICH. - The man accused of intentionally setting a fire that injured a woman and a child is headed to trial.

Darius Aubrey is charged with first degree arson, domestic assault and larceny in a building. His preliminary court hearing was held Monday, June 19.

Investigators say he is responsible for starting a fire in multiple places in a Muskegon Heights apartment late last month.

A woman and a 4-year-old girl were rescued by a firefighter after he found them unconscious inside the apartment.

The woman and Aubrey had a volatile relationship and he is accused of injuring her earlier this year.
