FERNANDINA BEACH, FLA. - The mother responsible for killing her two sons and injuring 2 other children in a drunk driving accident late October has been charged and is awaiting trial.
According to previous reports, 33-year-old, Tonya Capallia-Eason crashed into a utility pole and killed two boys. Capallia-Eason had eight passengers, all under the age of 15, in the vehicle when it swerved off the road.

One of the passengers says that Capallia-Eason was driving them home, although she had been drinking heavily at a Halloween party. One passenger stated that people tried to stop Capallia-Eason from driving.
Investigators say Capallia-Eason admitted to having two drinks, two shots and three or four pudding shots before the crash, according to WZZM 13 affiliate WTLV in Florida.
The two boys were killed in the accident were 9-year-old Nicholai and 8-year-old Nehemiah. Their 7-year-old sister, Nina, was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Andrew Bird, a Newaygo County firefighter, is the father of the two boys dead and one girl who survived the crash. He was granted temporary custody of his daughter and his son's bodies in October.
According to Nassau County Jail records, Capallia-Eason was arrested Saturday morning, Dec. 10 and charged on two felony counts of driving under the influence and manslaughter.
A GoFundMe page was created for the family since the tragedy and more than $11,000 has been raised. Bird and his daughter are in Michigan and working to adjust to life again -- she is back in school.
