KENT CITY, MICH. - A Kent City man who fled police investigating a shoplifting complaint has pleaded guilty to a drug charge that could put him in prison for 10 years.
William West was arrested last December on Alpine Avenue near Four Mile Road following a foot chase and struggle with police.
Deputies recovered crystal methamphetamine they say he tossed during the chase.
West this week pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine.
He has eight prior felony convictions and was on parole for a 2009 drug conviction in Kent County.
West will return to court for sentencing in November.
