Pizza delivery driver robbed at gunpoint in Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, MICH. - A pizza delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint of his food and cash Saturday night, police say.

Kalamazoo Public Safety officers say the robbery happened around 11:40 p.m. on Egleston Avenue. A pizza delivery driver reported he was robbed by two young men of the food he was to deliver and an undisclosed amount of cash, but was not injured. 

Police investigation led officers to a home on Race Street were suspects were believed to be hiding. The Kalamazoo Metro SWAT Team was called to the scene and were preparing to deploy when the suspects came outside. 

Police say the gun used in the robbery recovered and found to be stolen and one of the suspects had the stolen money.

The two suspects, an 18-year-old and 19-year-old, both from Kalamazoo, were arrested for numerous felonies including armed robbery, carrying a concealed weapon and receiving and concealing stolen property.
