OTTAWA COUNTY, MICH. - An Ottawa County man accused of soliciting minors was back in court for a preliminary hearing Tuesday afternoon.
Anuj Chopra is charged with human trafficking of minors, after police say he tried to entice two 16 year olds to have sex with each other in exchange for money.
The boys testified that Chopra offered them $1,000 each to have sex at a hotel, and to let Chopra videotape the encounter.
His defense attorney argues the teens are trying to get revenge because of a previous disciplinary issue at school.
The judge has not decided whether the case will head to trial. Chopra faces 20 years in prison and $20,000 in fines if convicted.
His wife Leslie is charged with using a computer to commit a crime, and distributing sexually explicit materials to minors. She faces up to two years in prison and $10,000 in fines if convicted.
