NORTON SHORES, MICH. - Norton Shores Police say a suspect accused of stealing items from multiple vehicles has been arrested.
The larcenies occurred over the last two weeks -- and all the vehicles stolen from were left unlocked. The suspect is accused of taking lap top computers, flashlights, back packs, tools and loose change.
Police say Saturday, Dec. 9, officers arrested 26-year-old Steven Eugene Stair of Dalton Township, who was recently released from jail and was on parole for previous home invasions, safe breaking and felony firearms.
The arrest occurred after an off-duty Norton Shores Police officer spotted Stair at the Lakes Mall. The off-duty officer kept Stair in view until on-duty officers arrived and made the arrest.
The Muskegon County Prosecutor's Office says they will be charging Stair for breaking into the cars and his arraignment will be on Tuesday, Dec. 12.
