Police searching for Meijer stabbing suspect

WALKER, MICH. - Walker police release photos from security camera footage of the suspect involved in stabbing and attempted carjacking in a Meijer parking in hopes of locating him.

On Thursday, March 9 around 8:15 p.m., officers responded to reports of a possible carjacking and stabbing in the parking lot of the Meijer store located at 2425 Alpine Avenue NW.

Police say a 25-year-old Grand Rapids woman was followed to her car from the store by an unknown man. The man forced the woman into the front passenger seat of her car when a struggle between the two broke out.

The man stabbed the woman multiple times before a Good Samaritan interjected. 

The suspect hit the Good Samaritan in the face with an unknown object before he fled the scene on foot, only to be chased by a second Good Samaritan towards Alpine Avenue.

The Wyoming Police Department attempted to track the suspect with a K9 Unit, however were unsuccessful.

The Grand Rapids woman was transported to an area hospital to treat the injuries she sustained and has since been released. 

The following photos have been released to the public in hopes that the suspect can be located.
