Suspected credit card thieves hit local stores

GRAND HAVEN, MICH. - The investigation is continuing into a series of thefts reported at Grand Haven and Spring Lake businesses, possibly by the same two women.

Credit cards and wallets were reported stolen early Wednesday afternoon from two downtown Grand Haven businesses: Borr’s Shoes, 214 Washington Ave., and Second Impression, 310 Fulton Ave.

Shortly after that, the same suspects allegedly took a wallet from the owner’s purse at No Place Like Home, 723 E. Savidge St. in Spring Lake.

The suspects are two  African-American females, between the ages of 35 and 45.  One appeared to be wearing a wig, and their heights are between 5 feet, 5 inches and 5 feet, 7 inches.

One woman was wearing a plaid button-down shirt and blue jeans, while the other was wearing a pink or purple shirt with multi-patterned pants.

Grand Haven public safety officers are working with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department on the incidents.
