Third man sentenced in Grand Rapids drive-by shooting

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - The last of three men convicted in a drive-by shooting last fall is headed to prison.

A Kent County Circuit Court judge this week sentenced 24-year-old Adam James Grego to between 15 months and 10 years in prison for assault with intent to commit great bodily harm less than murder.

Police say Grego -- along with Anthony Ray Sprague Jr.  and Glen Allen Hardy -- were involved in a drive-by shooting on Woosley Drive SW in the city's Black Hills neighborhood. Multiple shots were fired at a home on two separate occasions on Oct. 29, but no one was injured.

Grand Rapids police arrested two of the suspects during a high-risk traffic stop at Pearl Street and U.S. 131.

Sprague, 28, was earlier sentenced to between four and 10 years in prison for assault with intent to commit great bodily harm less than murder. Hardy, 22, was sentenced to between three and 10 years for the same offense.

All three men must first serve a mandatory two years for using a gun during a felony before the assault sentences commence.
